Aitken Civil took on a central role in the Inner Sydney High School Project, a substantial undertaking involving the construction of a new multi-story school overseen by Hansen Yuncken. Their comprehensive responsibilities focused on the completion of public domain, external drainage, and roadworks critical for the project's success.
From the outset, Aitken Civil's expertise shone through in the installation of permeable pavements, facilitating effective water management and contributing to environmental sustainability. Aitken Civil's responsibilities extended to the construction of an On-Site Detention (OSD) tank, where their proficiency in FRP, blockwork, and drainage ensured efficient water storage and management. The meticulous preparation of pavements, including sub-base and basecourse, laid the groundwork for the installation of concrete pathways. Aitken Civil's expertise in FRP applications was evident in pathways featuring both sandblast finishes and sawcut brick patterns, adding to the school's architectural appeal.
Furthermore, Aitken Civil oversaw the replacement of stone kerb and the installation of decorative sandstone retaining walls, further enhancing the school's surroundings. Their proficiency in flexible over rigid pavement installation ensured durability and longevity.
With a focus on stormwater management, Aitken Civil executed Sydney Water stormwater projects with precision, including the construction of trafficable shored road boxes, installation of stormwater pipes, and thrust boring operations.
